A series of spot illustrations for a proposed book on folktales about cats from around the world.
Trillia is a mermaid character I’ve been developing for younger readers. She is questing for ancient artifacts in order to save her village and her family. These three images were part of an art challenge to tell a simple, self contained story about discovering the “silver lining” to one’s troubles in just three scenes.

Personal project: Illustrations based on the book “Howl’s Moving Castle” by Diana Wynne Jones. Drawn with ink and painted with watercolor, with digital touchups.
Interior illustrations for the book Plug Ugly Ball: A Mobtown Tale of Bullies and Baseball, a tale of historical fiction set in Baltimore in the late 1800s. This artwork was used on section title pages and needed to depict specific scenes from the plot in a style reminiscent of period engravings. The original ink drawings were based on extensive historic research for accurate depictions of real locations and people who appear in the story.
