Stephanie Smith is happiest covered with ink stains and cat hair. For 19 years she was an illustrator and graphic designer for NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope, producing educational materials about astronomy and technology that ranged from interactive websites to animation to comic books and more, for audiences from adults to schoolchildren. Today she specializes in nature and fantasy artwork in a variety of media with an emphasis on storytelling and realistic accuracy, and loves collaborating with authors and experts to weave visuals and narratives together.
Stephanie received a double major in Studio Art and English from Goucher College, graduating with honors from the Phi Beta Kappa honor society, and completed an MFA in Illustration from Towson University. She currently lives in Maryland and is working on her first self-authored children’s book.
